description The requested resource (/definition.jsp%3Fterm=carrier) is not available.Gösta Werner föddes i Stockholm och efter avslutad realskola gick han till sjöss.Han vidarebildade sig och blev sjökapten 1935 och kompletterade denna med en metereologisk examen.Efter andra världskriget blev han konstnär på heltid, 1944 började han på Isaac Grünewalds målarskola och studerade därefter för André Lhote i Paris där han utvecklar sitt måleri en mer kubistisk riktning.Inledningsvis målade dock Gösta Werner mycket realistiskt men under 1950-talet dras han mer till det nonfigurativa.Självklart är havet, den kustnära naturen, solen vinden hans stora inspirationskällor och många av hans dukar anspelar på marin liv. Exempelvis är det inte ovanligt att han målar på segelcanvas.Flera av hans dukar kan liknas vid "marina collage" - fragment, såväl artefakter som målade visioner framträder sida vid sida.Det är också vanligt att han integrerar text, till exempel skeppsnamn eller destinationshamnar i bilden.På 60-talets början var han medlem i spontanistgruppen Aktiv Färg.
